And we're back! Website Update! Jan Krentz is coming!
Someone once wrote that 'a blog is a beast and it must be fed'. Our beast is starving..... So Sorry!
Here we are, getting ready for our 2014 Seven Sisters Quilt Show, June 28 and 29, 2014, back with a new website update, check it here. We have new show pages here, we opened our online Workshop and Lecture purchasing here, and we have purchases rolling in, since 8 am this morning! For all of our out of town friends of the show, now is the time to plan your Central Coast get away and join us for a workshop either in the southern part of our area in Orcutt, Friday, June 27th at the Old Town Quilt Shop or in the northern part of our area, for a workshop in Atascadero at the Masonic Meeting Hall, Thursday, June 26th. Jan Krentz will lecture on Saturday night of the show, June 28th. Isn't technology great when it works out?
So this is just a quick update, promise we'll be back soon. But we have to get our quilts ready for the show!
Well, we can't leave you without a little dose of quilt eye candy so check out the show on our video made last year.

The 2013 Seven Sisters Quilt Show is a Wrap!
Another show, and this one is another milestone. It was our sixth, now in 2013, but it was also our last show in April! That is a huge change for us, and we heard many opinions about the change this weekend. Our show dates are moving to the last full weekend in June, or June 28th and 29th in 2014. Yes we are already thinking about and working toward the next show in 2014! The website has been updated to reflect that, as well.
This post is going to be chock full of pictures, because we have so many from last weekend with our DVD and all the pictures we couldn't help taking even though we bought the DVD. It is so exciting to still see people talking about the Seven Sisters Quilt Show on Facebook and blog posts all over the internet, posting pictures and commenting on all of the beauty they saw, and the fun stuff they picked up at the show. I can't begin to tell you how much joy it gives us to see so many people pouring over the beautiful works of art, getting their glasses out to see some tiny stitch or detail, having the white glove attendants showing them the back, the quilting or the label (or the second quilt on the back!) and reading all of the great bios that Sue puts together for all of the quilts. We work all year for this show, and it seems like it is gone in an instant! The work all year is of course worth every second! So the pictures, let's see some glimpses of the fun. First though, the video!

It feels very much like being there, if you have visited the show, doesn't it?
And how about a few shots of the show by our own Dorothy Elerding? I will only preface this posting of pictures by saying that the sheer number of pictures we have at our disposal, right this second, will give us blog posts for years to come, so keep in mind the pictures chosen mean only that they appealed to this blogger at the moment of posting! No favoritism going on here, just sharing the beauty!
Isn't this an interesting shot of the stitching in this quilt?
This was one of the first exhibits seen when coming into the show, and isn't it spectacular?
Many talented quilters exhibiting beautiful work.
Art work that expresses who they are and what they have come through in life.
View the world as the artist sees it in their own corner of the world.
A view looking down our entry tent and all the great vendors.
This shameless promotion brought to you by our amazing Sponsorship Chair and
one of her Raffle Table Team Members.
Well this is probably long enough for this post! We'll save some for next time! Hopefully this little taste of the show has made you hungry for more and you'll come visit us next year, June 28 & 29, 2014!
Until next time!

Gearing up for the 2013 Seven Sisters Quilt Show
The 2013 Seven Sisters Quilt Show
will be held at the Madonna Expo Hall in San Luis Obispo
on April 27 & 28, 2013.
Well the 2012 Show has been put to bed and we are onto the next show. All of our committees are in place and we are once again trying to provide the best show we can for our viewing public. Our 2013 Show Chairs, Anne Kaver and Judie Kirkhart are leading the charge to our 2013 show with great flair.
Here is a little video from two years ago, and features our dear angel Donna Feagin, whom we lost last year to cancer.
That is a fantastic video, and shows alot of great aspects of our show.
This next video, where our show was featured on The Quilt Show, is from this year, 2012, and was a great surprise to all of us. What a treat!
You can see it at this link: The Quilt Show, Smilebox Playback
One of the fun items our Publicity Committee has brought back this year is the $100 offer to Quilt Guilds from out of the area that bring a bus to the 2013 Seven Sisters Quilt Show. You can get more information about that here. There is usually an interesting treasure hunt for bus riding attendees, as well. There is still plenty of time to plan your guild bus trip, and you know there are always interesting things to do once you are here, and fabulous places to stay and eat.
We have nearly 40 Vendors already for our 2013 Seven Sisters Quilt Show. We are looking forward to seeing those that return, and meeting our new vendors this year, also.
So be sure to put the 2013 Seven Sisters Quilt Show on your calendar for April 27 & 28, 2013, and we will see you there!

April 30 and May 1, 2011 Seven Sisters Quilt Show... a SUCCESS~
Who knew the Seven Sisters Quilt Show could be carried off in such style with just three of our member guilds???
We did, of course. We, the Associated Quilt Guilds of the Central Coast, always said it could be done; not ever thinking it might come to pass. Well the 2011 show is but a memory now, and what a great memory! We are nearly ready to disperse funds to the participating quilt guilds for their individual good works within their guilds. But what did we do different this year?
Well we made a little more money for the participating quilt guilds this year. We had our first ever FEATURED ARTIST, Francis Bailey! We incorporated the Hoffman Challenge into the show. We had a very successful Viewer’s Choice Competition. After four years we finally hit the right note with our food vendor, and thankfully, Phoenix Catering will be returning for our 2012 Show!
Speaking of which…when is our 2012 show you may ask…?
